Differential Diagnosis (DDx)
A ranked differential for any single impression item, with wording you can drop straight back into the report.
What It Does
Every impression item RadPal shows you carries a small DDx button. Click it and RadPal builds a differential for that one finding, using the item itself, your full findings, the exam type, technique, and clinical history. Nothing else in the report is touched.
The result is not a paragraph to read. It is a pick list: each candidate diagnosis comes with a likelihood tier, a one-sentence reason grounded in this case, and a ready-to-sign rewrite of the impression item. Select one or several, adjust the wording if you like, and replace the original item with a click.
Example item:
2. 2.1 cm arterially hyperenhancing hepatic lesion with washout in a cirrhotic liver.
What the panel shows:
- favored — hepatocellular carcinoma. Arterial hyperenhancement with washout in a cirrhotic liver.
- possible — hypervascular metastasis. Washout is atypical without a known primary.
- less likely — hepatic adenoma. Uncommon in a cirrhotic background.
Two ways in
- After generating. In the review window that follows an impression or full report, each impression item has its own DDx button.
- On a report you already dictated. The DDx button in the main RadPal bar reads the document in your dictation software, pulls out the impression already in it, and opens the same review window with every item clickable for a differential. No generation happens first, and no template is needed.
DDx is available on every plan and every dictation software preset, and there is nothing to enable. It is a decision-support aid: the differential is generated from what you dictated and is only as good as the findings in front of it. Review every candidate before it reaches a signed report.
