Dictation
Connect your dictation software to RadPal and learn how to structure your findings for report generation.
Dictation Software Configuration
RadPal needs to know which dictation software you use so it can read your findings and insert generated reports. You can configure this during the initial setup wizard or change it later in the settings menu.
Important: RadPal runs locally and must be installed on the same workstation as your dictation software. It is not compatible with virtualized or remote-desktop workflows (e.g. Citrix or VPN-based remote sessions), where the dictation software runs on a remote host that RadPal cannot read from or insert into.
Presets
If you use PowerScribe 360 (2020+), PowerScribe 360 (2017 / legacy builds), PowerScribe One, Dolby Fusion Narrate Dx, Synthesis PACS, Novarad + Fluency Direct, Dragon Medical (SoD), or INFINITT PACS, simply select the corresponding preset and press Save Configuration. No additional configuration is needed.
- PowerScribe 360 (2017 / build 7.0.154) — legacy preset for older PowerScribe 360 builds. Use this instead of the standard PowerScribe 360 preset if numbered impressions display as "1. 1. 1." or with wrong indentation.
- Dragon Medical (SoD) — for Nuance Dragon Medical Speech-on-Demand, dictating into its dictation box.
- INFINITT PACS — for INFINITT's embedded reporting editor (added July 2026).

Other (Auto-Detect)
For other dictation software or if the above presets do not work, use the auto-detect option:
- Select Other (Auto-Detect) and press Start Detection.
- A 5-second countdown begins — during this time, click inside your dictation software's text editor area.

- RadPal detects and imports the connection information automatically.
- Press Test Connection to verify everything is working.
- Press Save Configuration to store the settings for future use.
