Transcription Corrections

Guarantee that words your dictation software consistently mishears are always fixed.

What It Does

Every dictation setup has a handful of words it reliably gets wrong. Transcription Corrections is a find-and-replace list you define yourself: each entry maps a term your dictation software mishears to the term you actually said. RadPal applies the list automatically on every report you generate.

The corrections are deterministic — no AI is involved. The same word is corrected the same way every time, which is what makes this different from proofreading. If a term matters and your microphone keeps mangling it, a correction guarantees the fix.

Example:

You dictate:   “aortoiliac occlusive disease”
PACS hears:    “aortobiliac occlusive disease”
RadPal writes: “aortoiliac occlusive disease”

Always On

There is no toggle for this feature — corrections always run. With an empty list, nothing changes except the one correction that ships with RadPal: aortobiliac → aortoiliac. That built-in applies for everyone and cannot be edited or removed.

Corrections vs. AI Polishing

RadPal cleans up dictated text two different ways, and they solve different problems:

Transcription Corrections — your own fixed list. Predictable, instant, and guaranteed. Use it for the specific terms your setup always gets wrong.
AI polishing — an LLM proofreading pass that handles grammar, punctuation, and phrasing, and flags ambiguous words for your review rather than guessing.
